Globo TV International will launch at Realscreen Summit in Washington, a brand new series of documentaries exclusively produced for the international market.

After the first season focused on Brazilian nature, launched in early 2009, the distributor now brings to the market 7 new titles in the following categories: ‘Art, music and culture’, ‘Lifestyle’, ‘Personalities’ and ‘Science and Knowledge’.

All the ‘Globo Docs’ are produced from the viewpoint of those who know the country best, with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound technology. The content reveals Brazilian culture from its best angles. This new season is the result of a detailed research carried out by a highly qualified journalistic team with more than 30 years of experience and which produces 100% of the ‘Globo Doc’ content.

One of the highlights is ‘Globo Doc Carnaval’, a 3 episodes of 45 minutes documentary that shows the behind the scenes of what is considered to be the biggest party in the world. All the stages of the parades were followed, from the choice of the samba music, the preparation of the floats, the practice, to the expectations of knowing which school will be the winner.

The international market will also have the opportunity to get to know the stories of important Brazilians such as Oscar Niemeyer, the Nobel Prize nominee scientist Miguel Nicolelis, besides indigenous Amazon tribes.

With great acceptance among programmers, ‘Globo Doc’ first season has its rights already acquired by channels in Asia, North and Latin America and Europe. In the U.S. the channel Galavision of the Univision Group already broadcasted the first season.

After the Realscreen Summit, theBrazilian producer is preparing to participate in the principal documentary events around the world, among them being MipDoc in which it already participates for 3 years in Cannes, Sunny Side of the Doc in France and Hot Docs and Banff in Canada
