Audience Leader in Panama, TVN is the first channel in Central America to acquire the rights of ‘India - A Love Story’ by Gloria Perez and winner of the 2009 International Emmy Award. The acquisition sees the beginning of a new partnership and amplifies the presence of Globo TV International in the region.
With an investment of over US$50 million, the drama promises to take the viewer on a trip through India. To achieve this, apart from the 40 days spent travelling by the cast and crew around India and Dubai, three cinematographic cities were built at Globo’s Production Center in Rio de Janeiro covering more than 10,000 m 2. To situate India in Rio, the art direction reproduced 42 typical stores, a temple in homage to the Hindi God Shiva and a part of the Ganges river with one of its stair cases on its banks. A technical resource called ‘back lot’, a type of ‘chrome key’, with greater depth, assisted in giving the impression that the scenes took place in different locations and times of the day.
‘India-A Love Story’ deals with the differences between the Brazilian and Indian cultures and shows that love can overcome any obstacle. The cast is made up of names such as Juliana Paes (‘The Favorite’), Rodrigo Lombardi (‘Forbidden Desire’), Cleo Pires (‘America’), Vera Fischer (‘Two Faces’), apart from internationally recognized actors such as Tony Ramos (‘Family Ties’) and Lima Duarte (‘Shades of Sin’).
The partnership with TVN Panama also includes other successes such as ‘Two Faces’, ‘The Favorite’ as well as the series ‘City of Men’.
‘India– A Love Story’ is one of the bets for NATPE 2010. The distributor will be in conference room F, 3rd floor of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.
