The Favorite premieres in one more Latin American country

Ecuadorian viewers get a chance to see the successful telenovela ‘The Favorite’, after its premier in Puerto Rico and Chile. The telenovela, that reached more than 65% of the audience share when shown in Brazil, debuted on the 3rd at 8:45 PM during prime time.
 
The broadcast of ‘The Favorite’ is part of the long term deal between the two companies in 2008 and substitutes ‘Two Faces’, another Globo TV International great hit that achieved high audience indices during its airing. Ecuavisa will also air in the next future other brand new productions from Globo TV International‘s catalogue, like drama and comedy series.
 
Written by João Emanuel Carneiro, author of ‘Shades of Sin’ – sold to more than 100 countries – ‘The Favorite’ unravels the rivalry between Flora (Patrícia Pillar, from ‘Little Missy’) and Donatela (Claudia Raia, from ‘Seven Sins’), old partners in a country music duo. After spending 18 years in prison for the murder of Donatela‘s husband, Flora leaves prison wanting to prove her innocence, accusing her ex-partner of committing the crime. At the same time, she wants to get closer to her daughter Lara (Mariana Ximenes, from ‘Pepper Chocolate’), who was raised by her rival. Lara is the only heir to a paper mill empire and is in the middle of the dispute between the two characters.
 
‘The Favorite’ has many well-known actors in its cast like Murílio Benício (‘The Clone’), Deborah Secco (‘America’), Juliana Paes (‘Family Ties’), Thiago Rodrigues (‘Pages of Life’), Lilia Cabral (‘Pages of Life’), Mariana Ximenes (‘Pepper Chocolate’), Taís Araújo (‘Shades of Sin’), Claudia Raia (‘Seven Sins’), Patricia Pillar (‘Little Missy’) and Tarcísio Meira (‘Her Own Destiny’), among others.
