The telenovela ‘’Little Missy’’ achieved the top TV rating for its last episodes. It is distributed by Globo TV International and transmitted by Mega TV, a free to air channel in Miami, with national distribution through DirecTV Mas Channel (405), which is part of the Spanish Broadcasting System Inc (SBS) group. It is one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the USA. The telenovela screened its last episode on the 14th of this month at 18:00h.
The drama by Benedito Ruy Barbosa is not his first Brazilian success that Mega TV has included in its programming. They already have a two year partnership with TV Globo and have screened ‘Belissima’, ‘Soul Mate’ and ‘Pepper Chocolate’.
Sold in more than 22 countries, the love story 'Little Missy' charmed millions of viewers on five continents and was the finalist for best series at the International Emmy Awards 2006 and Seoul Drama Awards 2007. The drama is set in 1886 and has as its main character Little Missy (Debora Falabella from ‘The Clone’). She is the young daughter of Colonel Ferreira (Osmar Prado from ‘India-A Love story’), a powerful slave master and land owner in the small city of Araruna, known as the Baron of Araruana, and the daughter of the beautiful and submissive Candida (Patricia Pillar from ‘The Favorite’)
The drama begins when Little Missy returns to Araruna by train after finishing her studies in the capital. During her trip, she meets the young lawyer Rodolfo (Danton Mello from Cabocla ‘India-A Love story’) and falls in love with him at first sight. Upon arriving at the train station of the small city, the two go their separate ways.
Little Missy has abolitionist ideas and declares herself against the political attitudes and convictions of her father, making him furious. Rodolfo shares the same ideas as the Colonel’s beautiful daughter, but, to conquer the Baron’s trust so that he can get close to his great love, he decides to pretend that he is a monarchist and defends slavery. That is the beginning to a great story of a struggle for political ideas, friendship, and principally, love.
