The telenovela 'The Prophet' produced by TV Globo and launched on the international market in 2009, premiers this week in Argentina. Distributed by Globo TV International, the production will broadcast on the 18th of May on Canal 9, in primetime. The Prophet substitutes 'Little Missy' which is currently on air. In addition to this, the channel is also airing 'The King of the Cattle' on afternoons.
The Prophet's storyline is set in the 50s and shows the internal conflicts of Marcos (Thiago Fragoso, ‘The Clone’), a young man divided between greed and true love. After arriving in the city, he meets Sônia (Paola Oliveira, ‘Belíssima’), an honest girl who works in a crystal factory. During a casual encounter, the young man feels that Sônia is the woman of his life. During his journey, Marcos will be exploited by ambitious people and it will be up to him to decide if this is the path to follow or if it's worth the effort to discover his true life's mission.
In addition to Thiago Fragoso and Paola Oliveira, the cast counts also with Dalton Vigh (‘The Clone’), Carol Castro (‘Women in Love'), Stênio Garcia (‘Two Faces') and Vera Holtz (‘Women in Love') appear in the cast.
The Prophet will be one of the products on offer at the 2009 edition of LA Screenings by Globo TV International. The Brazilian distributor's participation in the event will start on the 19thuntil the 22nd of May, at suite 1860 of the Hyatt Century Plaza. The company's portfolio also includes formats, comedy series and documentaries.
